Mr. Raju Thapa was an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nepal. He obtained his Master of Laws, Graduate Diploma in Law (CPE), and Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice. He started his training contract with Asghar & Co Solicitors, Southall, between 2005 and 2007.

He is the first Nepalese national to qualify as a solicitor of England and Wales. The Law Gazette published this news in December 2007. Mr. Thapa has extensive knowledge of all aspects of Immigration law. He has dealt with many immigration matters such as applications to and appeals for settlement visas, sole responsibility cases, Gurkhas’ settlement rights for over 30 dependents, British nationality, etc. He has also lodged many cases with the High Court through judicial review. He is actively involved and associated with many Nepalese organizations as a legal advisor.

Mr. Thapa set up Everest Law Solicitors in December 2011. Mr. Thapa appeared in many television programs as a legal expert at Nepal Television in the UK, Nepali Television in Nepal, MBEX Channel, Kantipur, ABC channel, etc. He has widely participated and delivered his speech to the wider Gurkhas communities. He delivered his speech specifically about the changes in the new rules and their legal impact on wider.

He had previously provided online immigration advice at the Nepalisamajuk.com forum. He gave free legal advice to the Nepalese community-based in Wembley, Plumstead, Reading, Winchester, Aldershot, Basingstoke, Swindon, etc. He wrote many articles regarding the Gurkhas settlement, students in the UK, asylum cases and Human Rights issues, changes in the Immigration Rule and its impact in the broader community, dual nationality issues in Nepal, etc.

The Nepalese Business Association in the UK awarded Mr. Thapa the ‘Best Nepalese Professional of the Year’ in 2008/2009, 2009/2010, and 2010/2011 for three consecutive years. Many organizations also awarded him a certificate of appreciation for his exceptional diligence in service to Nepal and Nepalese communities. The London Borough of Hounslow recently awarded Mr. Thapa a certificate of appreciation for his outstanding services to the community.
